Speed Leish K

Anti-Leishmania infantum Test

Why use Speed Leish K?

Canine leishmaniosis is a vector-borne disease, transmitted by a mosquito: the sand fly. After infection, the animal may remain apparently healthy for several months or even years before developing subclinical (proteinuria, biochemical and haematological anomalies) then clinical symptoms (weight loss, skin disease, ocular disease, etc.) (2). Depending on the region, seroprevalence in dogs varies from 0 to 50%. In endemic areas, (the Mediterranean basin), 25 to 30% of carriers are asymptomatic (3). The immunochromatographic detection of circulating anti-kinesin antibodies ensures optimal sensitivity and specificity (4).

When should you perform Speed Leish K?

In the event of indicative clinical signs, Speed Leish K can be used to pinpoint the etiological diagnosis. In endemic areas, the regular use of Speed Leish K is strongly recommended to enable early detection of the disease in asymptomatic dogs (3). On return from an endemic zone, Speed Leish Kcan be used to screen for a potential seroconversion.

  • The specific detection of circulating antibodies directed against the kinesins of Leishmania infantum using the ultra-sensitive Kinesin Capture Complex provides a precise diagnosis, even in the presence of a low antigenic load.
  • Quick and easy, Speed Leish K is performed in one simple step during a consultation and in only 20 minutes.
  • Speed Leish K is very stable and can be stored for 24 months at room temperature, between 2 and 30°C.
